Such a lovely wood to turn. You can see even without sanding and finishing the look of the wood is great. The very light coloured part of the wood is the sapwood, this is the wood nearest the bark. The darker wood is called the heartwood. This distinction is there is most woods but it doesn't always have the big colour change, yew is another wood that has this really definite change.

You can even put flowers in it!
