Woodturning is fast becoming an obsession.

I started off with school woodwork class and now, after a few years break, I have my own workshop.

I've opted for solid tried and trusted machines, at the heart of the workshop is my trusty Union Graduate lathe. It's a design that hasn't changed since the 50's and can deal with just about anything I ask of it.

Local influences

I was born in Bristol and this is where I live and work.

I've been lucky enough to be taught by two very tallented local woodturners Mary Ashton and David Gladden. Between them I have gained confidence and skills as a woodturner.

Where possible I use localy sourced wood, this is wood that I can personaly vouch for. It hasn't travelled the length of the country or been around the globe. This is important from an environmental point of view, I also like the idea that I'm using wood from my part of the country.

Examples of my work
